Oriel Glasfryn Gallery Winter Exhibition 2023

Christmas is a magical time at Oriel Glasfryn Gallery, Welsh Art, Christmas decorations, roaring log
fires, loaded hot chocolates & Welsh roasted coffee are all part of our Winter Exhibition experience.
Why not visit us between 4 – 5 pm too, as darkness falls, our love for Christmas lighting becomes
apparent and sets the scene for, in our opinion, the nicest time to view.
Running from 15 th November until 17 th December (Weds – Sunday) we are proud to present a
carefully selected and curated body of work by 10 artists from Wales which will be displayed across
Glasfryn Hall and Oriel Glasfryn gallery alongside our permanent 45 Welsh artists.
For this exhibition we welcome back some familiar faces, alongside artists who have not shown with
us before. Among those returning are Alla Chakir, Roman Nedopaka and Oleksandra Davydenko, a
family of Ukrainian artists. Since the war began in their homeland they have found shelter, support,
friendship and love here in North Wales but their souls & hearts have remained forever at home in
Ukraine.
Birds & native wildlife are a key theme in this exhibition too with work from award winning artists
including Eric Peake MBE, Clare Shaughnessy and Kim Harley – Griffiths all capturing the essence of
animals through painting and ceramics.
Christmas also gives our permanent artist’s an opportunity to develop new work and we have
individually made Christmas decorations, jewellery, ceramics, scarfs, handbags, and glass work all
available in the Gallery space.

Located 5 minutes off the A55 and 30 minutes from Chester we are very accessible. For more
