Students have been praised by leaders at the Chester Catholic High School for their "resilience" despite two of the "toughest years".
Tears of joy were seen at the Handbridge-based school this morning as dozens of Sixth Form students at the Chester Catholic High School opened their A and AS level results.
Amongst them was Cecilia Doran, 18, who achieved an A in English Literature, a B in History and an A in Religious Studies. Liam Samuels got A in Biology, an A Chemistry and an A* in English Literature and will now go on to study medicine at Hull York Medical School. He said: "It's quite sad that this is my last excuse to be in school to be honest! I have really enjoyed my time here at Sixth Form."
Amongst them was Lily Jenkins, 18, who Maths Psychology and PE and C, A, A* respectively and will head off to Wolverhampton University to study paramedic science. And Melissa McNaught studied Psychology, Theology and Art and she achieved C, A, A and she added: "I've loved it, it was definitely the best thing coming to this Sixth Form!"

Bernadette Letissier Director of Sixth Form said: “I’m really pleased for these students. They’ve had a lot to contend with over the last two years. I’m delighted that their resilience and hard work has been rewarded, and I’m confident that they are ready to take up their place as responsible and productive citizens.”
Mrs McKeagney, Headteacher, was humbled by the dignity of our students today and the way they are preparing for their next chapter. “We wish them every success with their future.”
