Blacon officers secure two partial closure orders to protect vulnerable residents

Blacon Beat Team have secured two partial closure orders that will protect vulnerable residents from being victims of crime.

The successful securing of the order comes after officers presented the court with substantial evidence that the occupants of both addresses were being exploited by organised crime groups, using their properties for the production of drugs.

As a direct result the properties, on Stamford Road and Western Avenue respectively, are now the subject of partial closure orders. This means that the addresses cannot be entered by anyone other than the occupants for the next three months - safeguarding the residents from any risk of criminal activity being conducted at their homes.

This, in turn, means that anyone who does decide to enter either property will be committing a criminal offence and could be arrested.

Inspector Mat Beale, of Chester Local Policing Unit, said:

"No one should feel unsafe in their own homes and we have taken proactive steps to safeguard these residents and, thanks to the issuing of this partial  closure order, they will be able to breathe a welcomed sigh of relief.

“Our Beat Team are committed to doing everything possible to take action against those intent on causing misery and harm to residents and this is just a small snapshot of some of the work we do day in and out to keep the public safe.

“I would urge anyone who has concerns about drug dealing or anti-social behaviour in their community to please report it to us and we will do the rest.”

Anyone with concerns about anti-social behaviour or drug dealing in their area is asked to report it to Cheshire Police via:

the Cheshire Police website

or call 101.

Chester residents are asked to complete a Residents’ Voice survey about issues in their community, you can do so by visiting:

the Cheshire Police website.
