Chester FC welcome Spennymoor Town to the Deva Stadium, on Tuesday evening, as they look to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches.
Calum McIntyre’s side prevailed over Alfreton Town on Saturday afternoon with an accomplished 2-0 win.
Second half goals from the in-form Harrison Burke and Tom Peers earned us our first victory over Billy Heath’s men since 2021.
Another three points at CH1 consolidated our impressive home record, which is the best in the league.
No team in the division has scored more than our 10 league goals in 2025.
THE OPPOSITION
Spennymoor Town currently reside in 13th position but only five points separate them from the playoff positions.
The Moors’ 7-0 victory over Rushall Olympic on the weekend was the joint biggest deficit recorded in the National League North this season.
Glen Taylor and Corey McKeown both netted a hat-trick while Robert Ramshaw grabbed the other goal.
Spennymoor’s position is largely down to their tendency to draw games. No team in the division has recorded more stalemates than their 11 this campaign.
Graeme Lee’s team beat us in the reverse fixture as they ran out 3-0 winners at The Brewery Field on the opening day.
The team hailing for County Durham are in the fifth round of FA Trophy after they knocked out National League South outfit Hampton & Richmond.
THE GAFFER
Graeme Lee has been in charge of Tuesday’s opponents for just over a year after leaving his post at Marske United to join the Moors.
Managing the club was almost the 46-year-old’s destiny as his father, Tony, had been at the helm of the club in the early noughties.
After a tough first month, which consisted of three losses and a draw, Lee made a profound impact at The Brewery Field.
Spennymoor ended up just missing out on the playoffs by a solitary point, after winning 13 out of their last 18 league matches.
Lee’s efforts were rewarded as he was recognised as National League North Manager of the Month for February and March.
In his playing days, the Englishman was a defender and he appeared most notably for Hartlepool United making over 200 appearances for the Pools.
His first role in senior football management was at Hartlepool after a positive spell as Middlesbrough’s Under-23 manager.
ONE TO WATCH
Glen Taylor enters this clash in fine form after netting five times in his last two matches.
A three-goal haul on the weekend against Rushall Olympic took his tally of the season to double figures.
Taylor was also the hero in the FA Trophy as it was his brace that saw the Moors overcome Hampton & Richmond away from home at the start of the month.
At 34-years-old, the Englishman is entering the twilight of a prolific career in Non-League football.
The forward is close to surpassing 400 games for the club after rejoining back in 2015, in which time he has scored over a century of goals.
He has also represented Blyth Spartans, Whitley Bay and Ashington AFC.
