Chester FC’s record-breaking away run is put to the test once again this weekend, facing fifth-placed Darlington.
It’s a return to the North East for the Blues, seven days after their 2-0 win at Blyth Spartans. Goals from Declan Weeks and Ollie Heywood ensured Calum McIntyre’s men made it 18 league matches unbeaten on the road, ending a record previously set back in 1930/31.
A further boost has been handed to the squad prior to the game, with key defender Matty Williams signing a new contract at the Deva, keeping him at the club for the 2023/24 campaign.
Darlington sat top of the table a few months ago, but one win in ten games has seen them drop to fifth place – eight points behind the Seals.
However, that one win did come in their last game at Blackwell Meadows, a convincing 3-0 victory over Hereford on 18th March.
Kick off on Saturday afternoon is 3pm.
