CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division leaders Moreton lost for the first time on Friday night as Hoole Rangers secured a superb 4-2 victory. Marvelous Oharebe and Victor Arongundade were the sharpshooter as they both netted braces. Jay Hanson and Jack Pringle scored Moreton’s consolation goals in a result that has blown the title race wide open and gives current champions Waggon & Horses fresh impetus in their bid to reclaim their title.

Chrsitleton UDA defeated Handbridge by the odd goal in seven and in doing so leapfrogged their rivals into seventh position. Sam Tenwalde, Frantz Fulcher, Farid Robles, and Yaya Kamara were all on target for Chrsitleton while Sol Merideth, Luke Simms and Joe Davis scored Handbridge’s consolation goals. Meanwhile a Macaulay Salter effort was not enough for Chester Nomads thirds as Hoole Rovers netted twice to win the game 2-1 and take the points.

Waggon & Horses reserves dented Whitegates bid for Olympic Trophy Championship title glory with a commanding 5-0 victory. Harley Bennion led the way with a brace while Ellis Moore, Patrick Jennings and Daniel Davies also scored. West Kirby thirds sit in third position four points behind Whitegate but have four games in hand, and on Saturday seen off the threat of Chester Nomads fourths with a 5-2 victory. Derek McShane bagged a double, while Danny Wilson, Jack Waddicar and Ant Jacobs all scored for West Kirby. Leon Willman and Richard Birtwistle scored for Nomads.

Ellesmere Port U21 were on the right side of 4-3 thriller against FC Farndon in a game that had three red cards, seven goals and a last-minute winner, For Ellesmere Port Jake Pirie bagged a double, while Josh Byrne and Zak Maw both netted. Replying for FC Farndon was Alex Cleland, Andrew Walker, and Sam Davenport.

Waverton’s title bid was strengthened with a convincing 9-3 win against Fender FC. Declan Jones led the way with a hat-trick, Alex Jones a double while Jasper Scheuber, Joe Rigby, Alex Gray and Tom Thurston all got on the score sheet. For Fender Charlie Gouldson helped himself to a treble.

Over in the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vet division 3, Hartford Vets made it five wins from five as they accounted for Tarvin Vets 4-1, Dan Bowen, and Pete Wilson both netted braces with David Addiscott netted Tarvin’s lone goal.  Eastham Vets secured a crazy 8-6 victory over Parkfield vets. Joe Crane netted a four timer, Gaz Lupton a brace while Rich Courtney and Matt Gill also netted.

Upton JFC vets took top sport in division 4 with a commanding 6-1 win against Nags Head vets. Matt Norton, Sean Kearns, Dan Stevenson, Mike Bryant, Jo Li, and Dave Smith were all on target for Upton. For Nags Head Simon Mitchelson scored the solitary goal.

Wirral Masters Vets secured a 4-1 win against Hoole Rangers Vets with Lee Doyle, James Mellor, Luke Brennan, and Danny Payne all bagging for Masters. Adam Roper scored Hoole’s consolation goal.

Stuart Hardman and Micheal Large both bagged doubles for Cheshire Vikings Vets as they secured a superb 4-3 away win at division 5 leaders Whitton Albion Vets, a result which opens the league title race for up to five teams now in the hunt.

Poulton Athletic Vets are one of those teams and they moved up to second with a 3-2 win against Crossway Vets. Poulton are now level on points with Whitton but crucially have a game in hand.  Lee Dermondy was on hand to score one goal but the other two came courtesy of own goals for Crossway Vets Lukasz Jursak and David Megson were the marksmen.

Port Sunlight Vets enjoyed a comfortable 6-1 victory over Frodsham Vets, Mark Reid led the way with a brace while Jon Roberts, Matty Nayland, Steve Quarry and Gareth Barr all scored. Kev Valentine was the lone scorer for Frodsham.

West Kirby Vets had Neil Davies a two-goal hero as they defeated Hoole Wanderers vets 5-1. Ben Lonsdale, David Cowie, and Jon Oliver also got in on the act. For Hoole Will Campbell got the consolation.
