Here are the latest results from the Chester and Wirral Football League...
The weekend’s standout clash in the CWFL Queensferry Premier Division saw league leaders Moreton take on second-placed Kelsall FC under the Friday night lights at Bidston Astro. Kelsall struck first, with Keiran Price finding the net early on. However, Moreton’s talisman and top scorer, Jay Hanson, levelled the score after 25 minutes. Despite an end-to-end battle, neither side could break the deadlock, and the match ended 1-1—a result that hands a boost to reigning champions Waggon & Horses in the title race.
The only other CWFL Queensferry Premier Division fixture was a bottom-of-the-table clash, with Cestrian Alex claiming a vital 2-0 victory over Handbridge. Olly Edwards stole the show, netting both goals to secure the much-needed win and lift Cestrian up to seventh in the standings.
Meanwhile, in the CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship, Whitegate extended their lead at the top to nine points with a commanding 4-1 victory over Chester Nomads 4ths. Kyle Craven spearheaded the win with a brace, while Tom Carney and Shaun Howarth also got on the scoresheet. Richard Birtwhistle netted a consolation goal for the Nomads.
Sutton Rangers Reserves had the audacity to take an early 1-0 lead against free-scoring Lache CFC, but that only served to ignite Lache’s ruthless attack as they fired back with an astonishing eleven goals. League top scorer Warren Kelly helped himself to four, matched by Keiye Williams, who kept pace in the race for the Golden Boot. Ben Barrett also got in on the act with a hat-trick in the emphatic victory.

Hoole’s goals came from Christopher Noden and Will Campbell in a tough outing for the visitors.
At the opposite end of the table, Great Sutton Vets finally secured their first win of the season with a 3-1 triumph over bottom club Frodsham Reserves.
