Chester and Wirral Football League - Weekend Round-Up

Here are the latest results from the Chester and Wirral Football League...

CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division

Chester Nomads 3rds, who travelled to face Hoole Rangers on Saturday, seemed destined to take all three points as the clock ticked toward full time. Godwin Nweze had put Hoole ahead early on, but goals from Zac Caveney and Cam Parker flipped the script, putting the Nomads 2-1 up as the game entered its final moments.

However, the drama was far from over. John Elliot, who had earlier been substituted, made a stunning return to the field and delivered a dramatic 90th-minute equalizer, much to the delight of the Hoole line. Just when it seemed the game would end in a draw, Elliot had other ideas. In a heart-stopping finish, he struck again in the 93rd minute, sealing an incredible comeback and snatching all three points for Hoole. The last-gasp winner keeps them firmly in second place, while Chester Nomads were left stunned by the late twist.

Kelsall took an early lead against league leaders Moreton FC thanks to a Jimmy Studley effort to test Moreton’s resilience. However, Moreton once again demonstrated their knack for grinding out results in tight contests, battling back to secure a crucial 2-1 victory. Jack Pringle and Haydon Thompson stepped up as the heroes, each finding the net to turn the game around and earn a hard-fought three points. This result reinforcing Moreton’s position at the top of the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division.
