This Children’s Mental Health Week, local NHS Trust Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) are encouraging children and young people to look after their mental wellbeing.
The annual awareness week, run by children’s mental health charity Place2Be, shines a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health. The theme for this year is Express Yourself, and a number of resources are available to download by clicking here.
With strict COVID-19 restrictions still in place, encouraging children and young people to share their feelings through creativity is a great way to support their mental wellbeing. Last year, CWP relaunched its co-produced Child and Adolescent Mental Health website, MyMind. In line with this year’s theme, the site includes a host of interactive resources for young people, parents/carers and those who work with young people around the topics of Mood, Lifestyle and Relationships – as well as detailed information about CWP’s CAMHS services and other local and national support sources available.
The Trust has also recently launched a 24/7 all-age urgent mental health helpline, available to all residents of Cheshire West, Cheshire East and Wirral. Once a person calls the number, they are able to speak to a local NHS worker who can assist them in accessing the help they need. The service is available to call on 0800 1456485.
