FA TROPHY PREVIEW - Chester FC v Altrincham

Chester play in the Buildbase FA Trophy, for the second time this week, hosting Altrincham at the Deva this afternoon.

Following an excellent 3-1 victory over Bradford (Park Avenue) in midweek, National League opposition await the Blues in Round Three in Phil Parkinson’s side.

This match was originally drawn with Altrincham as the home side. However, with concerns over the condition of the Moss Lane pitch and further rain forecast, the clubs agreed to reverse the fixture to ensure the game goes ahead.

Alty have had an impressive start back in the fifth tier following play-off success in the summer, sitting in 5th place having won their last three matches.

Bern and Jonno’s side have won all of their home games this month, and have welcomed new signings to the club in Josh Askew and Connor Taylor this week. Taylor, on loan from Stoke, is ineligible – however Askew could be in line to make his Chester FC debut.

Kick off is 3pm at the Deva. The winners of the tie will get £4,500, with the losers getting £1,250.
