Future Proofing Careers With Cheshire College

In celebration of National Careers Week, Cheshire College is hosting a variety of career-related activities to help support current learners, prospective applicants and the wider community make informed decisions about their futures.

Taking place from Monday 1^st March until Friday 5^th March, Cheshire College have lined up virtual Q&As with experts in the field and will be sharing information on the various career opportunities available upon completion of their study programmes to inspire and empower young people and adults to fulfil their potential and achieve their goals.

With this year’s National Careers Week theme based upon ‘The Future of Work’, the College is supporting learners to develop those important transferrable skills and traits required to thrive in real work environments.

Jordan Swift, Director of Marketing and School Partnerships, said: “Here at Cheshire College, not only do we provide learners with the academic qualifications that will prepare them for their future careers, but we encourage them to explore their options and develop their employability skills through initiatives such as National Careers Week. 

“It’s vital we encourage learners to think about their futures to enable them to start developing potential career paths and we’re committed to providing them with the highest levels of support.”

Cheshire College always strive to inspire and during National Careers Week they will be joined virtually by Mindset Coach Benjamin Stubbs who will be discussing the power that positive thinking can have on career success.

They will also be speaking to A Level alumni Gwyneth Nurse, Director of Financial Services in HM Treasury, who recently received a CB for public service having spent the last 17 years working on a range of tax and financial services policies at the heart of the Treasury.

Throughout the week learners will also be joined virtually during lessons by a range of Employers including ENGIE, AO Logistics, Atos, Cheshire Police, Minerva Arts and Glyndwr University who will be delivering career talks.

The 10^th anniversary of National Careers Week comes at an important stage in the academic calendar as young people begin preparing for their next steps after education and as the region’s largest provider of post-16 education, Cheshire College offers a client-centred, confidential, impartial and accessible careers service delivered by professional and highly-qualified staff.

The College’s Careers service span all three Campuses in Crewe, Ellesmere Port and Chester and are open to both learners and the public.
