Greenfield Valley Museum and Heritage Park will be going back in time this weekend (20th & 21st of July), not once but twice, with two events that are sure to delight visitors.
A public open day to visit the Archaeological excavations currently being undertaken in the Valley by Heneb – Clwyd Powys will reveal what has been discovered and how the history of the Valley has changed through time.
Drop in (free admission) anytime between 1 and 4 pm to talk to the Archaeologist leading the excavations.
On Sunday the 21st of July the Valley will be going back even further in time with a Geological Extravaganza which will include meeting an Animatronic Dinosaur, seeing fossils from the Brymbo Fossil Forest, people will be able to talk to a Geologist first hand to find out about their work and also make their very own fossil to take home.
10:30am – 15:00pm (normal admission fee applies).
These events form part of a wider programme of activities to develop future plans to enhance Greenfield Valley for everyone. The Greenfield Valley Heritage Park Improvement Programme has received funding from the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund as well as a financial contribution from Flintshire County Council and the Greenfield Valley Trust.
A public consultation event is to be held on Thursday the 1st of August between 2:30 and 7pm, which will highlight projects that include ideas and plans for new facilities and attractions in the Valley as well as improvements to car parking, paths and entrances.
Please come along and share your thoughts about the Valley.
Greenfield Valley Trust is the charity that works in partnership with Flintshire County Council to manage the attractive Greenfield Valley between Greenfield and Holywell.
