Here are the details of the October Project Calendar for RainbowBiz.
September was another wonderful month on the projects. They were well attended by our wonderful group of volunteers. We saw the tomatoes planted in August grow into large juicy red tomatoes at the allotments.
Some wonderful weather for our walks and some damp weather which allowed us to take the project indoors and use the time to discuss with our group what they would like to do in future on RainbowBiz projects.
The most exciting development recently has been our musical mates project. Two hours of absolute joy on a Thursday afternoon, playing instruments and singing songs.
On 29th September RainbowBiz were delighted to attend the Flintshire Social Enterprise Network Celebration Event. Flintshire has been made a Social Enterprise Place. We are so proud that Sue is the Chair of the Social Enterprise Flintshire Places Stakeholder Panel.
Registered Social Enterprise Places are supported to reach out to and involve local Councils, businesses, charities, consumers and budding social entrepreneurs – bringing them together to grow their Social Enterprise communities.
The programme aims to promote, raise awareness, and build the markets for social enterprise at a local and national level. Social Enterprise Places are areas where Social Enterprise activity is thriving. RainbowBiz are proud to be a member of the Flintshire Social Enterprise Network and to be part of this great achievement for the area.
Walking For Wellbeing:
A weekly walking group which is fully accessible for everyone to attend including those with mobility aids including wheelchair and scooter users. Join us for some beautiful walks around the local Deeside area and visiting some of our lovely outdoor spaces. Lunch is included but please wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear. Meets every Tuesday at 10am until 12pm.
Digging Deeside:
This group meets outside at Mill Lane Allotments behind Shotton Job Centre from March-October and in Queensferry from November-February. This weekly community gardening project offers basic gardening skills, life skills and the chance to make new friends. Most importantly the project offers a safe place to meet like-minded people. Meets every Tuesday at 1pm until 3pm.
Musical Mates:
Our Musical Mates group enjoy getting together to make some noise.
This fun musical group meets in our workshop room above the Hippy Shop in Mold. It is a great opportunity to meet new friends and have the chance to play our lovely selection of musical instruments. We also have a karaoke machine together with our in house DJ Fozzy! There is free tea, coffee and biscuits available throughout the session. Meets every Thursday at 1pm until 3pm.
